How to Install the Mini R56 LCD Dashboard Upgrade


Guide for Readers:


Step 1: Remove the Cover Plate Below the Steering Column

  • Locate the cover plate beneath the steering column.

  • Remove the 3 T20 Torx screws securing the cover plate.

  • Pull the top of the cover plate away to release the 3 clips holding it in place.

  • Set aside the screws and clips for reinstallation.

  • Pull the steering column out to create space and expose the wiring connected to the original rev counter display.

Step 2: Disconnect the Wiring

  • Locate the wiring that connects to the original rev counter display.

  • Unclip and detach the wiring.

Step 3: Remove the Original Rev Counter Display

  • Unscrew the 2 T30 Torx screws located behind the display.

  • Free the wiring from its connections.

  • Remove the original rev counter display from its mounting.

Step 4: Install the New LCD Dashboard Screen

  • Pick up the new LCD dashboard screen and the mounting bracket supplied in the package.

  • Clip the mounting brackets onto the LCD screen.

  • Feed the wiring into the steering column and through to the appropriate connection points and plug it in.

  • Position the new dashboard screen into place.

  • Secure the screen by tightening the T30 Torx screws to hold it in position.

  • Reinstall the cover plate

Changing the Language on the LCD Dashboard Screen

  1. Press and hold the BC button on the indicator stalk for 3 seconds to bring up the menu on the display.

  2. Use the top buttons on the unit to scroll to the settings icon (located at the far right of the central screen).

  3. Press the center button twice to enter the settings menu.

  4. Select your preferred language from the available options.
